Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Notes for Contributors

  •  Journal of European Education (JEE)  is an international scientific journal, that publishes original research papers, reviews, position papers, and experiential, cultural, and social manuscripts in English.

    The content includes sub-disciplines of education including Science education, math education, instructional design, learning sciences, special education, educational measurement/evaluation, middle school, and elementary education.

  • Authors are pre encouraged to list five names of potential reviewers with the appropriate expertise to review the manuscript. The editors will not necessarily approach these referees. Please provide detailed contact information (address, homepage, phone, e-mail address). The proposed referees should neither be current collaborators of the co-authors nor have published with any of the co-authors of the manuscript within the last five years. Proposed reviewers should be from different institutions to the authors. You may identify appropriate Editorial Board members of the journal as potential reviewers. You may also suggest reviewers from among the authors that you frequently cite in your paper.

Guidelines for Submitting Manuscripts

  • Manuscripts: should be 3000 – 6000 words and proceeded by an abstract of 150 – 250 words.  Intending contributors should submit one electronic copy (email) of the manuscript to the Editor, and ensure that they retain an electronic and/or hard copy or they could submit their manuscripts through EJPE automatic OJS.
  • Articles must be written in English and in MS Word format.
  • All illustrations, tables and figures should be embedded within in the text not as an attachment at the end of the manuscript.
  • Tables and figures must be typed and embedded in the text.
  • Abstract and keywords (3-5) should be written in single-spaced, 10-point font.
  • Manuscripts should be written in single-spaced, 12-point font, 1 1-inch margin on top, bottom, left, and right. Please do not put page numbers.
  • The fifth edition of the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (APA, 2001) must be followed.
  • Manuscripts should meet high academic standards and be written in clear English or Turkish. If your mother language is not English, please ask someone with English mother language for proofreading.
  • Intending contributors should consult the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (5th ed.) to ensure that articles conform to the guidelines including the use of up to three levels of headings, citations, references, tables, figures, etc.

  • For chapters: Long, M.H. (1996). The role of the linguistic environment in second language acquisition. In W.C. Ritchie & T. L. Bhatia (Eds.), Handbook of second language acquisition (pp. 413-468). San Diego: Academic Press.
  • Refereeing of articles takes approximately 8 to 12 weeks although this may vary according to the availability and commitments of referees.
  • Book reviews should be between 500-1000 words and follow the format outlined in a regular issue.
  • Author Fees. This journal charges the following author fees. Article Publication: 100.00 (USD). If this paper is accepted for publication, you will be asked to pay an Article Publication Fee to cover publication costs.
